Here is a list of useful words for the first L6 term at Mill Hill School (studying Unit 1). Make sure that you know the meaning of these words.
You need to start your study of Physics with the same knowledge as our pupils here. This is very important. Here is the Syllabus that our pupils have studied, before the start of the Sixth Form (The examination board is Edexcel). The big topic areas, you will find, are: Electricity and Magnetism, Forces and Motion, Waves, The Earth and Beyond, Energy Resources and Energy Transfer, and Radioactivity . (By the time you have finished reading this page, you should be able to work out why some are in bold)
A typical text book that our pupils have studied, before the start of the Sixth Form, is: Physics For You, Johnson, Stanley Thornes, (ISBN:0-7487-2761-2). A shorter book they have also used is: GCSE Double Science Physics (The Revision Guide), The Science Coordination Group (ISBN: 1-84146-401-5) {These books are, of course, in English. Sorry!)
